What Do Those Credit Card APR And FEES Mean Any Way?

Filed under: Finance Programs @ 7:43 pm

Many card providers calculate APR based on several tables. The APR is part of the package when receiving a credit card that you must understand to avoid debt. Nowadays, nearly any company that offers consumers the ability to pay their debts via phone will charge a fee. The fee sometimes starts at $1.50 and reaches to $3.50. As you can see, to save money you want to avoid the telephone. Some companies are even charging customers for reviewing their statements, asking general questions, and so forth. Therefore, the telephone is making more money than you are if you continue to press those buttons. Therefore, if you are applying for a credit card, make sure your read the Terms & Conditions carefully to avoid overcharge. It is bad enough you have to pay your own phone bill without paying someone else’s. You might want to look at the Internet also. Some cards providers offer FREE ONLINE account access, but once you go online you find out that the FREE has a FEE.

Annual FEES should be weighed out carefully also, since some providers claim to offer NO ANNUAL FEES, and when you get your first bill, and the succeeding bills, you will learn that the FREE again has a FREE.

Cash Advances are often provided with credit card acceptance. This is good in some instances, but if the APR rates are high, it’s not worth your time. Some card providers offer a fee of $3 on cash advances, but again you want to read the Terms & Conditions carefully to avoid debt.

Balance Transferring is the process where the card provider will allow the cardholder to use one method to pay another fee. In other words, some card providers will send the client a ‘check’ and once the check is utilized to pay the balance, fees will apply. Therefore, learn more about balance transfers to avoid debt.

Late fees are often charged to cardholders, plus APR rate increase. This means that the cardholder will pay: bill + APR +Late FEE +APR, if the bill succeeds the grace period. As you can see, late fees can take your money and toss it down the river. The one most frustrating thing in the world is to work your buns off, all to find out that you have nothing left once your bills are paid.

Credit cards have limits on credit spent. In other words, some credit cards offer credit up to $30,000, while others offer less. If the cardholder succeeds the limit, then the card providers will often charge high APR+ Payment.

This is one of the most selfish acts of any card provider, but few card providers will literally CHARGE their clients additional fees, simply for requesting a higher credit limit on the card. How cruel and vicious, but it is a reality.

Overdrafts charges will also be charged if you pay for an item with a ‘check’ and the ‘check’ is returned, without sufficient funds. You would think that the providers would be happy to get a new customer, but instead you see where their goal is, since some credit card lenders actual charge customers for opening a new account with them.

Anyone applying for a major credit card should be wise to compare and contrast the different cards, the cards attributes, costs, APR, fees, and other details carefully before sitting them self up for a ride. Credit cards are plastic coated cards that have put millions of people all over the world in court filing bankruptcy.

Bankruptcy
If you haven’t heard yet, the law is making it virtually impossible, especially for anyone holding a credit card to get out of the debt. At one time, it was easy to go into bankruptcy, but now, the greed has extended to the point it is pushing people over the edge. Finally, word of caution, if you feel you can survive without a credit card, and then do so, otherwise, make sure you read, learn, and control your spending if you are accepted for a major credit card.

My Prize Piece of Baseball Memorabilia

My Prize Piece of Baseball Memorabilia

Back in the day …

I used to deal in baseball cards, and some memorabilia in the mid to late 1980’s. Through an old client I had the opportunity to sell a very rare piece of baseball lore. The piece that I was fondest of was a rare document signed by Harry Wright. A founding father of the game. The document was a contract of some player that was signed by Harry Wright, the manager, circa 1870. It was written on Cincinnati Red Stocking’s letterhead.

I was impressed. I was so excited to be entrusted with this rare artifact. I remember saying to myself.
“Oh my god. You have got to be kidding.”
I was astonished. I was in awe. I felt like I was let into a special group.

I sold the piece in the range of $10,000 - $12,000 if memory serves me. But selling the piece did not compare to the dreams I had about the contract.

Imagine, what it must have been like 130 years ago on the ball field. The baggy uniforms, and the teeny gloves for the players. The pitchers, hurling both games of a double header was common practice and a home run was a rarity. Boy has the game changed.

Handling that document made the early times of baseball real for me. I visualized those men playing in those old ballparks. I felt like I was part of that time. I was having a dream. I was there, back in the late 1800’s sitting in the stands. Smiling and watching baseball - Back in the day.

Handling this artifact was like punching a time clock and never punching out. I was in baseball memorabiliaville.

I can see why some people are so zealous about baseball memorabilia. Their baseball fantasy made a lot more sense to me after I sold this Harry Wright piece.

Remodeling On A Budget | Basic Ideas

Filed under: Home Improvement Tips @ 10:27 am

The basics of remodeling on a budget are not difficult to
comprehend, but in most cases they are completely overlooked.
Why is that you ask? The main reasoning is that people generally
become very focused on the final outcome of the project and what
it is going to look like when completed. Careful planning of the
funds needed to get there is sometimes a secondary
consideration, and one large reason why alot of projects get
started but not finished. A little upfront planning can go a
long way in achieving your remodeling goals.

The first step in creating your budget is to make a checklist of
the prices of all the products you’ll need to purchase. These
don’t need to be final prices at this point, just general
ballpark costs. Try to be as accurate as possible, knowing that
the final tally will be a small percentage different. You can
walk around your local home improvement store or browse the
internet to get some good quotes. You can even compare different
suppliers and keep track of the best prices at this point.

If you don’t plan on doing all the work yourself, you will need
to factor in labor costs. The best way to do this is to ask
contractors to bid on the project. Try to have all the products
picked out ahead of time, as this will allow the contractor to
give you an accurate estimate. Carefully examine each of the
bids to make sure they include a breakdown of all the components
so there are no surprises in the end. Not only should you
compare the final prices, but also compare each detail. You can
leverage these to make sure you are getting the most work for
your money. Be courteous and professional when doing this, and
expect the same from the contractor.

Once you have selected a bid, and you have your material costs
mapped out as well, it’s time to review your current financial
position. Do you have the excess capital to pay for the
remodeling project outright? If not, you will need to either
borrow from family members or take out a loan. If you go this
route, make sure you can make the monthly payments without
sacrificing your quality of life. You should also try to set
aside an extra 15 percent of the entire budget for any
unexpected expenses, or last minute ideas you have.

Now that you are ready to start, remember to stay within your
budget. Question anything the contractor says regarding
additional costs, and question any changes you are pondering
making. Since you took the time upfront to create a budget, it
would be within your best interest to not stray from it. If you
think of something that really needs to get in there, try to
scale back on another area to make up the difference. Avoid
adding too many extra details as these will quickly add up.

If you take the time to create a remodeling budget correctly,
you will tremendously increase the chances of satisfaction with
the project. Pick the right materials and contractors, or do the
work yourself to save money. There is plenty of information
available to help you get through just about any type of home
improvement project.

Keeping In Touch With Grandparents

Filed under: Great Lifestyle Tips @ 3:51 am

Grandparents are one of the most treasured blessings we can give
to our children. It is so delightful, to see the joy and sparkle
in their eyes when they get to visit.

Some children are very lucky to live near their grandma and
grandpa. Some, aren’t as fortunate. For these kids, it can be
sad sometimes. They aren’t able to share things as consistently
as their friends can.

Their are wonderful ways for your parents’ and your children, to
stay in touch and really get to know each other. It’s an
important part of life for both parties’ to be able to be
involved with one another.

*Have your son or daughter keep a daily calendar. They can write
what they do at school, the weather conditions, and even how
they feel each day. Have grandma or grandpa do the same. Then,
each month - they can exchange calendars through the mail! A
great way to know how each other’s days are going.

*Record cassettes or video tapes, and send them back and forth.
Your kids can sing their favorite songs and read their favorite
stories.

*Let your children memorize their grandparents’ phone #. Let it
be the one number they can call anytime without permission.

*Send pieces of art, school work and drawings.

*Grandma and Grandpa can have a special bond with your kids by
sending them care packages every once in awhile. They can
include mementos, educational tools and maybe a treat.

If you help cultivate a relationship like this, your children
can learn valuable family morals and traditions. Not to mention
wisdom! Don’t deprive them from an important bond, just because
they live in separate places. They just might carry the
tradition on to their own grandchildren!

Each Drop of Rain Counts to Drench My Heart

Filed under: Misc. @ 3:10 am

Multiplication of heavy drops of rain water is only to multiply my happiness. The joy I feel when it rains is indescribable. Not only my outer body but my little heart inside of it is also drenched when it rains. Rain is like the showers of the Lord gracing equally all the beings below.

O Rain! What thanks can I render for the cool gift you shower on us when the Sun competes to its peaks with its heat and timorously fades away behind the mountains with your coolness? Do you see the happiness in the eyes and throats of the little children screaming with joy when they see you traveling from above? The warm breeze itself becomes cool with your touch. The beautiful gardens await your arrival in order for them to bloom to the fullest and they love to see your mercy drooping upon them. With your touch, the flowers feel the same way the soul feels when it is touched by the divine hand. The trees when quench their eternal thirst by your down pour become so energetic and show their gratitude by their swift healthy growth by trying to reach the rafters of the sky.

Do you ever realize the fun and happiness your advent brings to our hearts? Even a person of sorrow or even the greatest enemy of nature becomes fervent to look at you gracefully skidding from your abode on to the earth. What to describe about people like me who always await you and hate to miss even a glance of yours?

You are so impatient and romantic when you reach your partner ‘the Earth’ so hastily. How can I ever forget the way you sojourn from your birth place ‘the sky’ and from your home ‘the clouds’ to land and soothe the children of the earth and the earth itself? Aren’t you ever thirsty? You always drench our thirst and the only moment you drench yours is when you become one with the earth. Upon that romantic earth I am living my life and it is only because of every drop of yours that my heart is filled with never ending Love.

“O Rain, rain your love perennially on our hearts but never in our eyes with sorrow.” -Sharmila Sanka

What Is Refractive Eye Surgery?

Filed under: Templates Tips @ 10:37 am

Refractive eye surgery is a type of eye surgery that is used to
rectify refractive errors of the eye and decrease dependency on
corrective lenses such as eyeglasses and contact lenses.
Successful refractive procedures can reduce myopia or
nearsightedness, hyperopia or farsightedness, and astigmatism or
elongated corneas. A number of different procedures exist for
refractive eye surgery depending upon the type and severity of
the refractive error.

There are four main types of refractive eye surgery procedures:
flap and photoablation procedures; corneal incision procedures;
thermal procedures; and implants. Currently, the most common
refractive eye surgeries involve the use of lasers to reshape
the cornea.

Flap procedures involve cutting a small flap in the cornea so
that the tissue underneath can be reshaped to correct the
refractive error. LASIK, short for Laser Assisted In-Situ
Keratomileusis, is the most popular refractive surgery and is
used to correct myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism. The LASIK
procedure involves using a microkeratome or IntraLase to cut a
flap into the stroma, moving the flap out of the way, removing
excess corneal tissue with an excimer laser, then replacing and
smoothing out the flap. LASEK is best suited for individuals
with thin or flat corneas. The LASEK procedure uses a small
trephine blade to cut into the shallow epithelium, after which
the eye is bathed in a mild alcohol solution to soften the edges
of the epithelium. The flap is gently moved out of the way so
that an excimer laser can remove excess corneal tissue, after
which the flap is replaced and smoothed out. Epi-LASIK, like
LASEK, involves a shallow cut into the epithelium, but makes use
of epikeratome to create a thin epithelium sheet for removal
instead of the harsher blade and alcohol.

Photoablation, the second stage in flap procedures, makes use of
ultraviolet radiation to remove excess corneal tissue. PRK, or
photorefractive keratectomy, was the original laser eye surgery
procedure. PRK involves numbing the eye with local anesthetic
eye drops, and reshaping the cornea by destroying miniscule
amounts of tissue from the surface of the eye. The laser used,
an excimer laser, is a computer-controlled ultraviolet beam of
light. It burns cool so as not to heat up and damage the
surrounding eye tissue.

Corneal incision procedures such as radial keratotomy and
arcuate keratotomy use miniscule incisions in the cornea to
alter its surface and correct refractive errors. Radial
keratotomy, or RK, uses a diamond tipped knife to make a number
of spoke-shaped incisions in the cornea. The result of the
incisions is that the cornea flattens out, minimizing the
effects of myopia. Arcuate keratotomy, or AK, is very similar to
RK. The diamond knife is used to cut incisions that are parallel
to the edge of the cornea, as opposed to the spoke-shaped
incisions of the RK procedure. These procedures have been much
less common with the emergence of laser-assisted refractive eye
surgeries.

Thermal procedures use heat to correct temporarily hyperopic
refractive errors, or farsightedness. The thermal keratoplasty
procedure involves putting a ring of 8 or 16 small burns on the
eye immediately surrounding the pupil. The application of the
heat increases the slope of the cornea, making it steeper,
through thermal contractions. There are two main types of
thermal keratoplasty. Laser Thermal Keratoplasty, or LTK, is a
no-touch procedure that uses a holmium laser. Conductive
Keratoplasty, or CK, uses a high-frequency electric probe.

The final type of refractive eye surgery involves the use of
implants. Implantable contact lenses, or ICL, can be used to
correct severe levels of myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism. The
implants are actually tiny contact lenses that are inserted
through a small incision in the side of the cornea. Implants are
seated so they sit immediately in front of the eye’s natural
lens just behind the cornea. ICL works in conjunction with the
eye’s natural lens to refocus light on the retina and produce a
crystal clear image.

Each of these procedures has its advantages and disadvantages,
and not all individuals are suitable candidates for refractive
eye surgery. Individuals who are interested in learning more
about surgical options should contact their ophthalmologist for
more information about these procedures, as well as inquire
about other new cutting-edge procedures. Since ophthalmologic
surgery is constantly growing and changing with emergence of new
technologies and methods, there are always new techniques in
development. As new equipment is developed and methods refined
that can improve the success and minimize the side effects of
refractive eye surgery, new procedures will emerge to replace
outdated techniques.

A Money Making Secret that Emboldens the Common Man

Filed under: Investment Info @ 9:15 pm

You only get one life and life is a little short to be worrying about the rediculous little bits of paper we value so much yet we virtually live for. Money is a blessing and a curse, but there is a simple answer to the problem. Get your equitable share.

Simply, the only way to really be free from the cursed pull of money is to actually have enough of it that it will never again dictate what you do, where you go, what clothes you wear, what cars you drive, where your children go to school and so on, and on and on. Money is literally a prison guard and a saviour in one single concept. Lets face it, thats all money is, a numerical concept manufactured by men to make bartering simpler.

I dont need to carry my sheep around when I go shopping for a new hat. I can pay with paper IOU’s called money. These are as good as the 2 sheep and a hec of alot less messy. Money is civilized.

Money is also very abundant. It permeates our lives like oxygen. VALUE is money. The two cannot be seperated. If it has value then it is worth money. A simple idea? I think it is. I promised you in the title of this article that I will tell you a money making secret that will embolden and empower you. And so I shall.

Here is the first part already revealed. Value is intrinsically connected to the concept of money. (I can’t just blurt it out, I am going to make you work a little to get the point across on a deeper level) This doesnt need too much more explanation does it? Its obvious, its just that we dont think about the relationship between money and value very often.

The second part of the secret is much more emancipating and you are about to hear something that will change the way you think about your life, your family, and everything you value! Theres that word again.

Let me ask you a question that I will ask you to ask yourself. Here it is. Where does value reside?

MONEY resides in banks. In the equity in peoples houses and their property. It resides in money markets and computer interfaces that count numbers, it lives in “things” outside ourselves because its numerical in nature.

But where does VALUE reside?

Notice all the places I mentioned where money resides were inaccessable to you? You cannot take anothers possessions. You cannot take anothers house or hack into their bank accounts. Its illegal, unfair and plain wrong. How can you be expected to get your equitable share of money floating around in this world, if you may not lay your hands on it because it is always residing in somebody elses possession? You cant.

You may however work for a pittence at a job and take your hourly wage off the sweat of your back and toil off your brow. That you may do. Seems a little unfair doesnt it?

Its also not just a little mysterious! In fact, how did these people get their money? Its a rude question to ask somebody in polite circles. But nonetheless a very fair question to ponder even if it is a little impetuous.

Well? Have you worked out where VALUE resides? More importantly do you comprehend the first part of the secret? Do you understand that VALUE is more important than money, not only if you want to make a huge fortune quickly and easily. But its obviously more important than money fullstop!

Its value we all trade on a daily basis a billion times a day around the world. Think what you really want? Do you want that shiny new cordless drill? Or do you simply require the 1/19 inch wholes that it cuts in wood? You buy the drill because you need it to cut neat holes in wood. That is the utility of your prchase, not the drill itself. When a woman buys the latest fashionable skirt, she isnt buying the fabric and packaging…she is buying a nite out and wished for lovely evening. Its value we seek at every level.

Heres another word. WORTH. This is so intrinsically connected to money that if money was paint, then “WORTH” would be so intrinsically connected to it that it would be the color the paint is. I made my point and I wont labour it. But notice how closely connected WORTH and VALUE are in terms of meaning?

What has this got to do with making a rapid fortune? EVERYTHING! The reason you cannot touch money is because you are chasing the wrong thing. Money is a symbolic representation of WORTH which is a reflection of value. To be willing to chase money is to chase a meaningless empty hollow numerical value. If you want wealth, you must chase and foster WORTH because its a reflection of VALUE. Thats where millionaires differ from the new apprentices. Apprentices like you.

So, I will ask again. Where does VALUE reside?

The secret? Value resides in you. Its YOUR values that are worth a million dollars. Please think about this. Your future depends on it.

May success find you fast and knowledge find you first.

Buying a Hookah

Filed under: PR @ 7:25 pm

Since the culture of hookah shisha is one of relaxation, it’s best to approach the process of hookah buying with patience. Research the subject, become familiar with the best materials and products, consider the aesthetics–what pleases most and will most enhance the smoking experience for you? Quality, beauty, and price are the broad parameters to consider when you set out to buy hookahs.

While it’s a good idea to have checked out any local retail outlets where hookahs are available, and to have tried various hookah pipes at a lounge, your best bet in meeting the above criteria is probably going to be buying online. There’s simply a much broader range of hookahs available online, without the markup a brick-and-mortar store is forced to charge.

For the hookah body, also called the vase, or govde, Pyrex glass or ceramic, or some other non-porous, tempered material, are the best. Avoid wood or copper. Bases come in sizes from small to large and a multihued array of colors and designs. Stems will generally be stainless steel or another solid metal, fluted and, again, in a range of heights. Hoses also come in a variety of styles and lengths. The tobacco bowl should be ceramic, clay, or metal. You can get a hookah with one hose fitting or multiple hose fittings. There are a number of sites where you can build your own hookah from a selection of parts, and others where you can order custom hookahs. There is a wide selection of high quality hookahs available ready-made, however.

Egyptian hookahs generally have hand-blown glass bases in jewel and opal-toned colors, while Syrian hookahs have exquisitely ornamented ceramic or glass bases. Beyond these traditional styles there are a plethora of modern interpretations, animal shaped hookahs, mod hookahs, mini hookahs, traveling hookahs complete with carrying case, and rotating hookahs. Prices range from about $35 for a mini, quality, single-hose hookah, with a mid-range for medium hookahs at $60 to $100, and from about $115 to $135 or more for a large hookah. For a custom hookah, you can spend from around $225 for crystal to as much as $1,000 for a hookah made of silver.

Most hookah purchases will come with individual bowl, stem, plate, base, and hose or hoses, in separable parts for ease of cleaning, and will include tongs for coals, screens, brushes for cleaning, and instructions. Some will also come with a carrying case and extra rubber stoppers, some hookah tobacco and charcoal.

Hookahs Info provides detailed information on hookah smoking, tobacco, pipes, and lounges, and advice on where to buy retail and wholesale hookahs. Hookahs Info is affiliated with Business Plans by Growthink.

Filed under: Medical Tips @ 4:07 pm

Welcome to Liposafe.
Unlike most diet pills, which use dangerous stimulants to
artificially speed up your metabolism, LipoSafe’s unique blend
of ingredients assist your body in the emulsification
(breakdown) of body fat, metabolizing the fats and removing them
from the bloodstream.

At any given time, your bloodstream contains varying sized
particles of fat. The smaller these particles are, the faster
and more freely they are able to travel to your muscle tissue
where they can be burned as fuel.

LipoSafe comes in easy-to-swallow, quick dissolving capsules.
Hard tablets use bonding agents (glue) that tightly bind the
ingredients together. Tablets will often pass through your
entire digestive system undissolved or only partially dissolved.
People often wonder why diet tablets didn’t work for them- this
is the reason. LipoSafe capsules, on the other hand, utilize
fine powders that are available for complete absorption into
your system within minutes.

Why Many Rapid Weight Loss Products Are Dangerous? Once the
pounds begin falling off, many people become complacent and
lapse into poor eating habits. They deprive themselves of foods
that contain nutrients which are absolutely necessary to good
health. In extreme cases, dieters will begin to lose their hair
and suffer other health problems! Not so with LipoSafe.

In addition to the botanicals, herbs and amino acids which
greatly accelerate weight loss, LipoSafe also contains
essential vitamins and minerals! Each time you take LipoSafe
you also get 100% of the U.S. Government’s Recommended Daily
Allowance of all 12 vitamins and four essential minerals (all
natural) that are needed to replenish the nutrients generally
lost in any rapid weight loss program.

With most rapid weight loss products, you also need to buy a
complete high potency multivitamin and mineral supplement in
order to maintain good health. Why spend an extra $30 a month
for all natural high potency vitamin supplements? These same
vitamins and minerals are contained in every LipoSafe capsule.
