Smithy Wood Gets Two New Tenants

Two new firms have recently taken up residence in the 50 acre Smithy Wood regeneration site at St. Paul’s Developments - Konica Minolta Business Solutions, which is a business machine specialist, and Medilink Healthcare, a technologies support organization.

Konica Minolta has moved to South Yorkshire in a bid to get better access to its growing customer base. Martin Hetherington, Sales Director for Konica Minolta said that compared to their old office site in Leeds, the new one offered better access to the M1 through Junction 35, allowing them easier connectivity. He added that the newer and more contemporary office interiors at Smithy Wood would add prestige to the company’s image and improve efficiency.

Kevin Kiely, Managing Director for Medilink, said that the new office would help promote the development of healthcare technology, as it makes Medilink a part of a support group focused on this area, with several partners of the group being located in the vicinity. What is also likely is the addition of several other partners of this group to the Smithy Wood development, ensuring closer co-operation for healthcare technology development, he said.

With the addition of these new tenants Smithy Wood has sparked off interest from a host of similar organizations looking to move into the business area, claims David Newton, Managing Director of the project. Smithy Wood office development is the result of a collaboration between Yorkshire Forward, a regional development agency, and the Duke of Norfolk.
